Recent visit to Rossopomodoro Balmain- Is it overrated?

Ambience is not that great... at one stage i felt i was in a sweaty chinese restaurant, very cramped and lots of people- ambience was not 'chill'. The lighting was perhaps too dark for my liking- i like to see what i am eating. Also, pizza was ok, but for the price is a questionable reflection. The buffalo mozzarella was nice but gave me gas, so would again question the freshness/quality, $7 bottle of water a bit steep, but what can you do. Also, they share a toilet around the back of the premises, which is a bit shit when its raining, you need to get the key like at a service station to take a piss.

All in all not bad, but not rushing to return, have had better experiences here some time ago though....there are other options in the inner west!

Share your state of origin pizza moment.. Let us know favourite pizza, and best pizza provider.

Pizza Hut and Domino's cost effective offerings? Food for thought.

Pizza Hut and Dominos....minimum ~$20 to deliver ONE large PIZZA. Add ~$9 if you include garlic bread and a coke. WHERE are the economies of scale for mass production???? I reckon that these price points are not reasonable considering the quality of the product. Tell me if I am being unfair.  What are we paying for as end users? I reckon that they could reduce this price dramatically- how can they compete let alone compare with local quality pizza providers?

PAOLO's PIZ!ZA!!! AYE CIAO PAOLO! Top slice of Drummoyne

Good family pizzeria! Consistently top standard pizza pizza, as you would expect...not the 'new age' traditionally wood fired style with minimum ingredients but more the substantial combo of ingredients (if you want) on a well structured base. I dont normally detract from pizza, but the Italian kitchen of "mammas" put on a mean couple of antipasto dishes, including arancini, stuffed capsicums, eggplant, carrots and some other  stuff I cant rememebr but is gooooood!! My pref for pizza here is the Australiana style....
...but there are all sorts of things to choose from and one should not be dissaappointed. There are cool booth style seating at the front with more resturanty(?) tables out the back. If you need to wait for a table go for a beer accross the road. Its pretty casual, but an essential slice of Drummoyne!

Da Vinci's in Summer Hill, a Pizza Rennaisance...

mmm Da Vinci's Pizza is anice place to go for a pizza! Nice ambiance, near Summer Hill station... I think I would go for the four cheeses...there is another with fresh tomato, basil and buffalo mozarella...but the buffalo mozzarella wasn't that great (which is too often the case in Australia) so was dissapointed that they claimed it to be 'di buffala'. Not a bad place...will return...Leonardo would be proud enough!

Home made defrosted pizza from a month ago still a pleasure!

Excess pizza? Nevermind! Freeze pizza, and reheat later! Obviously not as good as fresh, in fact has similar consistency to pizza hu or dominoes bases, yet still satisfying (when is pizza not!)...

Zia Pina, The Rocks Sydney, Stay Away Sydney

What a shocker! Will make a point to never return to this place, and would advise anyone to stay away. The two times I went to this place I have said I am never going to return. Nothing worse than a burnt pizza...to the point that there was nothing left after picking off the burnt pieces. Also nothing like being moved/shoved to different table after already starting to eat, greedy senior staff, poorly managed, appalling product! Stay away Sydney! The main traffic for this place is tourists who would get ripped off and never need to return anyway- very poor presentation of Australian Pizza/ hospitality. If you come to Sydney steer clear of this place! Go to the inner west (Leichhardt/Haberfeild etc) or Ventuno's (21) on the wharf or even Bar Roma in the Rocks.

It was funny actually, some time after having had my bad experience(s) here, I saw on the news that someone was arrested by police in the Rocks after causing a dilemma with staff at an Italian restaurant...as the man was less than happy to pay for the service...before it came up on TV to show which restaurant it was; I already new it would have to be the famous Zia Pina...and it was! I have tried to find the footage on-line, but not successful. If you find it, please send through link (few years ago now). I thought that that could have been me or anyone else who has had a less than satisfying experience. From my knowledge the Restaurant should have been placed under more scrutiny!

Why is Australian Pizza so special compared with other countries?

If you are familiar with Australian Pizza, what do you think sets it apart from anywhere else in the world? Happy to receive input.

Cafe Moretti on Norton Street- Best Pizza on Norton Street!

Toto's Pizzeria good quality family pizza -true wood fired pizza!

Unknown to some, this is possibly one of the ONLY TRUELY SOLELEY WOOD FIRED pizza restaurants in Sydney- correct me if im wrong...that is no gas booster!
This is a true family pizzeria, producing quality for ??years. Based in Rodd Point, I reccomend the Rodd Island pizza- which consists of Cabanossi, slightly piccante salami, mushrooms tomato base, mozzarella and possibly garlic-VERY GOOD PIZZA- Secret spot for some: See address/contact details below.

59 First Ave Five Dock NSW 2046 Map Totos Pizzeria Contact Info (02) 9713 9589

I laugh at reviews complaining about the phone manner- some people want a drunk wife and the full bottle of wine. HAVE PATIENCE IF CALLING FOR PICK UP ORDERS and you will not be dissappointed- better to go there and pick up, see the action.

Castel Mola- Pizza eat in or take it home to your castel!

Not surprisingly very good Pizza and consistently pleasing. .
Recent special take away two large pizzas for ~$30- competitive and enticing.
Reccomend Leichhardt and Siciliana.

Dining in can be a bit noisy...only qualm...although they do have a separate room for private meetings/ dinner etc... They also do a great garlic prawn entree, with bread made inhouse- great. If you eat in they sometimes give you a sample of their limoncello- not as strong as petrol- but does the trick!

Go Norton Street Leichhardt!

Napoli in Bocca puts a tasty pizza smile on your face!

Undoubtedly one of if not the best Italian Pizza Restaurants in Sydney!
Pizza Australia reccomends the Scugnizzo and Carnevale. Consistently good quality, and comparatively competitive pricing, should not dissapoint! Go Haberfeild.

Rosso Pomodoro pizza puts some red in your tomato!

One of the best pizzas in Sydney is undeniably Rosso Pomodoro in Balmain- White Bay.

My favourite pizza was the fig, gorgonzola and prosciutto special. Not cheap but a taste sensation! Friendly service, make sure to book, a special treat.
